Vintage Linen/Quilt Block Collections:

Quilting has long been a favorite hobby, especially as it yields a product that not only provides comfort but is considered a signatured artwork of the maker.

Lovers’ Knot is a replica of the much coveted Double Wedding Ring Quilt pattern. Create this lovely quilt block to create wall hangings, quilts and runners without the cumbersome task of joining the curved blocks. The designs come in two sizes, for the 5x7 hoop and the 8x8 hoop.

Recapturing the artwork of the Safavid dynasty, the Farsi Wall Quilt project mimics the decorative and ornamental designs on buildings, carpets, pottery, as depicted in Persian art.

Continuing with the vintage quilt collections is the New York Beauty quilt. The collection actually is a sister to the Mariner's Compass collection but has an old world charm all of its own, as well. Paper piecing is the preferred mode for creating this much covetted block, but is a cinch on the embroidery machine, allowing you to create breath taking quilts and or home decor items.

One of the most difficult quilt blocks to create mc.jpg are the Mariner's Compass blocks. The compass points make it difficult to achieve that perfect point, often resulting in mismatched points and or stubbed points. Paper piecing is a preferred method to creating the block. The Mariner's Compass design collections were created to easily re-create the coveted block, making it a breeze to stitch out. The Mariner's Compass designs come in four points, eight points and sixteen points, allowing you to create exceptional quilt blocks.

Continuing with re-creating vintage quilt blocks on the embroidery machine, the Feathered Trails is another name for the Drunkard’s path quilt block. The Drunkard's Path pattern creates an illusion of a meandering design, without any straight edges. Feathered trails mimic the same, using two blocks that create the effect. The curved edges of the applique within the block create an effect of waves and are thought to be one of the most difficult blocks to create. The applique method makes the block simple and easy. The pieces are like a jig-saw puzzle, leaving the creativity up to the embroiderer.

The Island Sampler collection has innovative designs that lend to a variety of methods: applique, shadow-work and trapunto. All three variations can be created using simply a single design. Quilting has always been a favorite past-time and the Island Sampler presents the opportunity to create a quilt on your embroidery machine, with easy directions to join the blocks together on your sewing machine. The collection also has unusual quilting blocks, which can be used as borders for the quilt or used by themselves to decorate your home and garments.

Combining vintage linen designs as quilt blocks in a versatile collection Vintage Linen I presents similar designs of a goneby era. These designs mimic vintage embroideries on linens, and are specially digitized to give the appearance of hand made embroideries. The designs are excellent not only for home decor items but also for wearables.

One of my cherished quilts is a Baltimore Album quilt. These American beauty quilts are the heart throb of any quilter and depict a story told by the maker. Baltimore Rose collection is a spin off from the Baltimore Album quilts. The designs are delicately digitized and give an airy feel and look to the embroideries. Again, the designs can be used by themselves or combined together to create your own version of a Baltimore Album quilt.

One of my most favorite embroideries are the blackwork techniques, made to resemble lace on fabric. "Marrakesh" is a huge collection of versatile designs, which can be used in so many different ways. The designs use one color and resemble the Jacobean and Assissi embroideries. Bonus designs of cutwork edge combined with freestanding lace 10" high fringe makes this a must-have collection. Again, the designs have been specially created to give an airy look. The versatility lends easily to embroidering quilt blocks, home decor items as well as wearables.

Traditional applique quilt blocks with a twist make up the designs in the Vintage Quilts 1 collection. Using your imagination and my creativity, beautiful applique quilts and home decor items can be embellished using these designs. There are two sections within the collection: applique and non-applique, allowing for greater versatility. The designs stitch out quick.
