Vintage Borders I

As an antique linen collector, I have tons of vintage linens. Some of these linens became my
inspiration to create Vintage Borders. Vintage Borders I is the start of a new type of edge cutwork designs with extremely light densities to use on light weight materials. Each design compliments the other and can be used in a variety of ways. Usually cutwork edges are created using heavy satin stitches which keeps the edge nice and smooth. For the Vintage Borders, I decided to create the edges in such a way that the fabric would be prevented from unraveling yet at the same time there would not be any bulk in the edge area hence making these designs ideal for light weight fabrics such as voile, batiste, chiffons, georgettes and even linens. Moreover, I wanted to capture and present the look of the vintage linens in my own vision. The designs are extremely versatile and can be used in a multitude of ways from linens to wearables for adults and children as well as home décor. The designs are for the 4x4 and the 5x7 hoop size.
