Southern Charm-Dogwood/Wisteria
The Dogwood flower is actually a set of four modified leaves which showcase the real
cluster of tiny flowers in the center. The almost see through four petals with their
indented points lend an almost ethereal look. “Southern Charm” in its initial planning was
devoted to showcasing the Dogwood in all its glory. However, when I was approached to
create the logo for the American Embroidery Conference 2007, I was asked if somehow
wisterias could be incorporated into the designs. The combination was startling as the
stark white dogwoods seem to come alive in front of the light purple wisteria blooms.
Hence was the start of the “Southern Charm” Dogwood/Wisteria.
The designs in the collection showcase the Dogwoods and the Wisterias as clusters and as
possibilities in creating larger designs. The designs were specially digitized using a new
technique which gives the feel of a painting without the photostitch effect. I hope you
will enjoy using these designs as much as I enjoyed creating them.
