Quilts for Kids in Distress 2007Dear friends, Kids in Distress is one of the charities that I sponsor at the American Embroidery Conference. Kids in Distress is a nationally accredited agency dedicated to the prevention of child abuse, the preservation of the family and the care and treatment of abused and neglected children. Last year, 2006, we collected well over 342 quilts for the Kids and this year we hope to collect as many or more. This year I am co-sponsoring the Kids in Distress Quilt drive along with Daffy Down Dilly Designs. We are excited to be part of this wonderful drive and hope that friends from all around the world will participate and make the lives of these children a little bit better. All that you have to do is to send in a finished quilt to Dianne Pomeroy. In return, you have the option of selecting one of the collections offered by each of us in your choice of format. This collection will be sent to you free of charge by the co-sponsors once your quilt is received. The quilt must be at least a baby size measuring 36"x45" or 45"x64". This must be a finished quilt. It may be embroidered or pieced. As these quilts become lifelines to the children receiving, please refrain from sending cheater quilts.A cheater quilt is a pre-printed, pre-quilted panel to which binding is applied. Pre-printed blocks or panels of whole cloth to which batting and backing is applied are not considered cheater quilts. Please do not quilt using yarn etc or use a pattern which would have tails of yarn or buttons, fabric hanging as that can be dangerous to the children. This drive will remain in effect till December 1, 2007. The following are the Design collections offered by Sadia's Designs for the Kids in Distress Quilt Drive 2007. Please visit Daffy Down Dilly regarding their designs.
Please send your finished quilt(s) to Dianne Pomeroy: Dianne Pomeroy
Thank you all for your participation. Hugs, Sadia
