Sneak Peak-Grace III
Many friends had inquired about the release of Grace III-Traditions and Carolyn and I had full intentions of its release at the begining of March. However, with both of us pursuing
full time jobs during the day, it was simply not possible to release at the dedicated time. Carolyn did release the collection with sneak previews at the American Embroidery Conference. So, while I wait for the conference to be over so both of us can release it on our websites, I decided to show everyone a sneak preview of it.
The Grace Collection-Traditions has four sections, each with specific designs that will truly create one of a kind freestanding lace heirlooms. A dear friend, Evanlee, created the most beautiful ring bearer’s pillow as well as a baby pillow and a baby baptism handkerchief from the Cross and the edges section. I love the idea of a satin fabric behind the baby pillow which gives the lace a rich look and depth. The ring bearer pillow is indeed different and I hope to have my own version finished soon to share with friends.
The baby’s baptism handkerchief has so many possibilities. Used at the baby’s baptism as a bonnet or a handerchief, it can be used later on as a handkerchief for the bride when the baby grows up.
One of the sections of the collection has some of the most beautiful ribbon insertion laces. Even though I love all the laces in the collection, I have to say that the ribbon section has become one of my favorites. Using it on the bottom edge of a child’s smocked dress along with a curved lace edge, I loved the scallop effect that it created. Furthermore, I used serger thread for embroidering the laces as the dress is a crinkled voile. I love the effect so much that I am seriously thinking of using the same technique for my bed set. Actually I’ve started on it, just have to finish it.
Hopefully by the middle of the month, both Carolyn and I will have the Grace III-Traditions available on our websites.

Tough time getting into the blog lately, must be me! Seems like you are going to need a little girl to sew for with these! I love your idea of a bed set, I am sure it will be stunning. These sneak preview designs are a great addition to the Grace Collections. Very good work, Sadia. Nutmeg
Thankyou Nutmeg! Aw, but my little girl is quite grown up. However, I envision these for big girls too. Hopefully soon. Thanks again, Hugs, Sadia
I loved viewing your Grace collections. The models you have worked showed just how beautiful they can be. Since I am working on a ring bearer pillow the pictures were
a real confidence builder for me with your ideas.
Thanks for sharing your talents.
God bless.
