Entering the “Space” age with the Brother “Quattro”
Hello and welcome to the “Space” age with the Brother absolutely to die for “Quattro”. I had the opportunity to view this amazing machine today and all I can say is…”not fair”….not fair to my pockets….as I would dearly love to own this baby. The machine is more than just a sewing/embroidery combo. It is great for quilters and crafters as well. I believe Brother has been listening and acting according to the demands of its customers. The size is “just” perfect. I was bowled over by the new Pfaff machine but the sizes of the hoops for the new Quattro are perfect. I have never been a fan for the 6×10 hoop even though I yearned for it. Somehow the design was not great, there was always a bit of a gap when using the largest hoop. The hooping system is not so very different but a lot more sturdier in the new machine due to the new types of hoops. The square 8×8 inch hoop is fantastic as is the 12×8 hoop. The lighting, the LCD screen, the built in designs (lots and lots of them), the new feet (I do hope they bring them out for the previous builds), and to die for needle pointer. This gadget is so very cool. If you want to see a bird’s eye view of what you are embroidering or stitching, turn on the feature and view it up close and personal right on the LCD screen, can you tell I love this feature. In short, if I could, the machine would have followed me home….LOL. I am hoping however, that the rumor about the new PR (12 needles??) is true and next year would be its debut.
Now to the nitty gritty….the price. Well, yes it does have a hefty price and that is one of the main reasons I hesitated. I have become quite fond of my Innovis and cannot justify another combo machine but if I could I would. The stitch quality is fantastic and there is a wonderful tension adjustment that does a fantastic job. Ofcourse one has several options built in like using the specialty motif stitches (from the sewing side) onto the embroidery section, turning any design into an applique design etc. All in all, I have to say that it would be a fantastic machine for any hobbyist, whether in the sewing, embroidery, quilting or crafting world.

Hi Sadia,
I was introduced to the new Quattro Friday as we drove downtown into Atlanta to see it and made the decision to purchase it. I thought it could do everything including turning on the dishwasher.
I have been trying a new feature each day and love not having to depend on a card reader to pull designs from my laptop or a flashdrive. That was my goal yesterday. I have sewn out to designs and they look great. I am going to look at Embird and SewWhat software and make a decision after free trials of both. Have you any experience with either or know someone who has?
Thanks for sharing your excitement with others.

Chris, I work with Embird and Embird studio exclusively. All my designs are created in Studio and worked with in Embird. I have seen the SewWhat software and it is interesting. However, if I were to select from the two, I would go with Embird as it has been around for quite a long while and offers so much more. Congrats on your new machine. Hugs, Sadia
