A Happy Wedding!

Well, son #2 has finally done it! We are extremely proud and happy in-laws again and also dan1this time around I get to be a Great Grand Mother to an adorable two year old. With all the flooding around, we decided it was best to keep the occasion casual and simple. What a beautiful day it turned out to be! Not a cloud and quite nice temperatures.  Our son had asked to be wed in the winecellars on our property…yup, that is why my personal email addy is winecellars…LOL. But, with the springs running quite high and with all the bugs etc…we decided it would be best to host it on the deck overlooking the lake. And what a perfect setting that was.

Keeping it simple was not an easy task for me but all in all I have to admit that it worked out. Everything was daisies with light lilac ribbons. We decided to wear casual and with the humidity sky high, it was not a bad idea. I am all for these informal weddings. As a dear friend said to me, “it is great that not a lot of time was given me to prepare, otherwise I would have been going out of my head”….well, I was for a while, but the ceremony went smooth….I almost forgot the camera and had to run for it. As for the bride and the groom, well they certainly are a handsome couple.dan2

And I may look a bit tired but certainly was a happy Mother and Mother-in-law. Pictured with my first daughter-in-law to my left and two of my best friends on the right. The day ended great! Blessings and best wishes to the newly weds and always lots and lots of happiness.

More Sneak Previews!

Well, July is here for sure but “Grace” is not yet released….soon though. The collection, although meant to be just for “booties and bonnets” for babies has a bit of versatility to the designs. Every day I amaze myself with the various ways that the designs can be used. Carolyn and I both felt that it would be interesting to use our minds in using the designs in varied ways. It always seems as an added bonus to me when I can use the designs in more than one way.

I have to admit that the past several weeks, both Carolyn and I have literally worked ourselves to the bone in creating a collection that is astounding. I’m sure both our husbands g1would be super glad to see this work finish as we have spend hours perfecting each design via email and telephone. There is no way that any picture can do justice to the  items but I did want to sneak in a couple of pictures to show friends of the designs.

The first picture is a variation of the “Baby Jane” shoe. The shoe is all made of lace, even the sole. The collection does have varied soles to choose from. A variety of threads have been used to create the items, my favorite so far is still the cotton thread. Although one does have to watch out for the lint and clean often, the feel and look of the laces is absolutely heirloom and pleasing.

As I said varied…well, how is this for you…..

Yup, you guessed it! I can think of nothing more delicate and heirloom than a lace bowl and it was a bit of a fluke discovering that one could use the designs this way.g3

And that is not all….

With Dupioni silk as the background, lace panels were joined together to create the cushion. I’m rather pleased with this and can see tons of friends at Christmas receiving these. Hopefully we will have the collection ready by mid-July.
