Transferring ideas to stitches

In one of my previous blogs, I had shown the start up of my wall2newest “Mega embroideries”…Southern Charm-The secret garden 2. Well….working on it now for the past almost 20 hours straight, I’m inclined to call it something else…perhaps…Southern Charm-The bird bath or some such thing. I’m open to all suggestions and ideas.

The work is far from finished but at least there is a direction and perhaps more of a set up than what I had previously. At least finishing one complete unit from the 9 panels does give me a bit of satisfaction…although not too much as there is tons yet to be done.

The problems started when I couldn’t figure out what to do with so much of the back ground. There is tons of open areas with absolutely no embroidery and that gets to me….the open spaces are basically in the top part of the design. I’m pretty sure that the areas near the rhododendrons and the pussy willow will be filled up but the open areas near the top of the pompass grasses is a bit disturbing. So far nothing has really come to mind except perhaps have some vines hanging down or part of a tree branch showing up.

I was surprised at the low amount of stitches and that caused me to wonder if I shouldn’t fill up the background a bit with a loose fill….nah…that would be boring.

So, I’m tired and I think it would be best to leave it alone for now and rest a bit. Perhaps tomorrow might bring me new fresh ideas on how to further carry on. I would be extremely pleased if I can at least finish the bottom two panels. The bottom far right panel is done but now I’m having doubts….maybe the forsythia needs to bend a bit..you think?

Well, I know you do not like jump stitches, but…maybe you need some butterflies fluttering around in the empty sky, or a grasshopper on the steps, fuzzy kitty ready to pounce at the bird bath, or let him just sleep on the steps in the sun. Of course I see a corner of a barn in the background with stones around that! Maybe lean a old fashioned spoked wheel against something in the background.
Wait whose picture is this anyway, I know you will come up with something good, close your eyes, picture where you are in it. Excellent start!!

Nutmeg! Great minds do think alike! LOL. I was thinking of perhaps a garden shed type building and there you go giving me a similar idea. Fantastic….I do like the idea of birds, may have to put some in there. Thanks. Hugs, Sadia
