Tidbit-12/27/2007-A tribute to Benazir

A gray and dreadful day, December 27, 2007 will be long remembered in the hearts of many Pakistanis and in the history archives of our world. Benazir Bhutto, a champion for democracy in Pakistan was assassinated this evening. “Inna lilahi wa inna ilayhe rajaeoon”

A cowardly and absolutely meaningless act. My sincere condolences and grief to her family and Pakistan. The shy girl I first met in Washington DC well over thirty years ago and then later on in 1986 when she returned to Pakistan. May you rest in peace and may the work of your esteemed father, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and yours continue to bring peace and democracy to a beloved part of the world. You will be missed.
