Power of One-NNEP Contest winner Eve Kovacs

Going beyond the imagination in machine embroidery is how I envision eve5Eve Kovacs. I met Eve about three years ago at the ASG National Convention in Nashville, TN. What came as a surprise to me was that Eve is a physicist and as a hobby indulges in sewing arts including machine embroidery. She does have a tendency to think “outside the box” in literally everything coming up with some of the most unusual and interesting wearable garments. It is no surprise then that she has won several wearable garment contests including Stitches, ASG, and the NNEP.

I had the honour of meeting her again at the ASG National Convention in Sacramento, CA this year. It came as no surprise to me when Eve told me about being theeve4 winner of yet another contest, NNEP or the National Network of Embroidery Professionals Embroidery Classic Contest in the category of Fashion Apparel and Accessories category…..and she informed me that she used some of my Heirloom Lace II (cutwork) designs. I was intrigued and asked if I could possibly borrow some photographs as well as write a bit about her and the contest.

The NNEP is a network of professional machine embroiderers and caters to anyone who is in the business of machine embroidery, be it selling thread, designs, etc. It has a tremendous client power and reaches out to millions across the US. The trade shows are geared towards promoting new innovations, ideas in eve1the market.

I have to admit I was completely blown over by Eve’s garments. As I said the lady has an amazing power of creating unbelieveable wearable garments and I have been a fan for quite some while. Her look is subtle yet at the same time a bit extraordinary. Taking just one design she managed to give an amazing look to the cutwork design by using is not only as an edgework design but also as an overall embroidered look by ommitting the edge cutwork areas.

The complete outfit with the bolero type jacket and the bell bottom pants and the purse have an heirloom type look with a twist. Thank you Eve for your amazing creation and ofcourse for using my designs. I’m completely impressed and wowed!
