A request re Allene Snow
Machine Embroidery, just like any other craft is a close knit community. Friends are easily made with a common bond of machine embroidery, the designs, the techniques and the spreading of love and joy. Just recently a dear friend Allene Snow of http://snowladydesigns.com suffered a medical problem. The medical problem (not yet totally known) has her hospitalized without any access to her computer. It is human nature to think that any problem in our life is not going to be at a time which will cause our regular routines to be disrupted…so very wrong. Allene has been digitizing for a very long time. Her designs of pillowcase ladies have always been one of my favourites. Her designs have a fresh yet nostaligic look to them. With her hospitalization came the disruption not only in the regular income (yes she and her husband rely upon her income generated from sales of her designs) but also a terrible realisation that can befall any of the home digitizers at any time.
My request to all Machine Embroidery enthusiasts around the world is very simple. Please help. Knowing the strong and proud personality of Allene, I know she would frown upon any donations and or gestures of donations at this urgent time of need. However, as friends cannot sit idle, we request that friends purchase her designs directly from her website http://snowladydesigns.com . As Allene herself managed all her transactions of sales (sending out designs, etc) it would be a little while before your purchased designs would be delivered to you. Arrangements are being made to have Allene’s family log into her paypal account to collect the purchases as well as perhaps transfer of her designs to other digitizer friends who will send them out. It might be a while before the designs would be sent so I would request that friends purchasing the design not be impatient. Her “Guardian Angel” collection is a wonderful set of designs recently released and what a lovely gesture we can all make in purchasing them in helping out a lovely lady who has throughout her involvement in the Machine Embroidery world brought us such joy and beauty through her designs. I sincerely hope that we can help out a wonderful person at this urgent time of need. Please help.
Addition:
Friends, I just learned from Dawn Wenner of http://www.designbydawn.com/ that Allene’s “Guardian Angel” designs can be purchased from Dawn’s website. I urge for friends not just to pray at this time but also to help by purchasing Allene’s beautiful designs. Thanks.

Sadia,
what a lovely gesture, we all pray for Allene’s speedy recovery. I just purchased the Garden Delight set, it’s beautiful, and I’m happy to wait for the designs, they will join many many other purchsed designs “I just had to have”, and hopefully will get stitched out someday! Thank you for letting us know how she is doing.
Linda
God bless you Sadia for being such a caring person. I will be praying for Allene. She is a beautiful lady.

My prayers go out to Allene and her family. Thanks Sadia for letting me know. I’ve made a pair of her pillow cases and they are beautiful.
Aileen has been in my thoughts and prayers since I learned of her illness… If you see her please give her a big hug and kiss from us.. I purchased the angels and they stitch out perfectly and I was using metallic thread… The angel is absolutely beautiful when it is finished..
