Wild and Wacky Machine Embroidery

I received a package from Krause Publications today. Wondering what it was that I purchased and forgot, I opened the package to reveal a book by Linda Turner Griepentrog and Rebecca Kemp Brent called “Machine Embroidery Wild and Wacky”-Stitch on any and every surface. Thinking perhaps I had purchased online in one of my weaker moments, I made a cup of tea and sat down to view it. For the life of me I knew I would not have purchased something like this yet I wanted to see inside. Turning a few pages, I was amazed to see a picture of a peacock from Farsi II collection with Yours Truly’s web site mentioned. My interest really aroused now, I started to turn more pages to find another picture from Heirloom Lace II collection. Now I started to read some of the headings and topics. This is an excellent book for someone who wants to go beyond the ordinary in machine embroidery. If you want to know how to embroider on soap, the book gives you excellent directions. If you want to embroider on wood or metal (yes indeed) there is quite a detailed section on how to do it. In other words, it covers everything just like the title, stitch on any and every surface. An absolutely excellent book and a great resource to have on any embroiderer’s book shelf….also a great gift idea for a friend who is into machine embroidery… (http://www.amazon.com/Machine-Embroidery-Wild-Wacky-Surface/dp/0896892778) Thanks to Rebecca and Linda, a great book on Machine Embroidery. Not only are there wonderful ideas but also the book comes with a CD full of beautiful designs that go with the many projects shown in the book.
