I have Palette Version 7 and I did an upgrade on it, but I just recently (5 days ago) bought a new laptop computer and they could not transfer my Palette to the new computer, so…..my question is: How do I get an upgrade for my Palette 7. The other question is I downloaded my Version 7 to my computer with the disk I got in my package deal and it downloaded perfectly. I just need to get an upgrade. Please HELP!!!!

Arsella, if I remember correctly, you can’t save to the card, just import the design to it while in Layout and Editing. Try that and see if it helps. Hugs, Sadia

I bought palette 5.0 with an upgrade to 6.0 on ebay. Everything seems to be working fine except my card/card reader. When i try to save something to the card it says this is an old original card please insert a new original card. Did I get a bad card or are there different cards? The one I have fits in the reader properly and I can look at the items that the previous user has on the card from my computer as well as from my Esante machine. What do I do to make this work? I’m ready to start using my stuff!!

Kristy, you can purchase a serial/usb converter cable. One side of the cable will be usb, which will connect to your laptop and the other side will have a port with serial attachment for the PE 4.0. Hope this helps. Hugs, Sadia

We have version 4.0, but the computer we use is a laptop, which does not have the serial port. What must I have to make this work with my laptop?

Tina, there is a device that one can purchase which allows the printer port type plug in to be plugged. I believe it is usb, any computer store should have it. PE design version 4 dongle is different than the version 4 of Palette. As long as the dongle and the version match up (same company) it is allright to have an upgrade of the other (either one, brother or babylock). Version 6 will not install or work unless the dongle (version 4)is attached first. The dongle with version 2 is not the same as version 4. Hope this helps. Hugs, Sadia

I was wondering if you can help me. I have pe design 2 installed on my computer. I recently bought from ebay, pe design version 4 with an upgrade to 5 but it is palette. I also have an up grade to 6 with pe design. First of alll, there is a security device with 4 that I cannot plug in to anything. My printer port is different. palette 5 tells me that the system thread chart failed to open and pe design 6 tells me that there isn’t a dongle installed. The dongle will work with pe design 2. Can you help???? Tina

Hi,
just thought you would like to know, I have just successfully upgraded from version 2 to version 6. We had to do the upgrade because version 2 could not work on the new laptop which like most others now does not have a serial port.
Incidentally they both appear to work fine with windows new operating system, ‘VISTA’, although I had to use the compatability wizard to install version 2.
