“Pirates” of ME

Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favourite movies and although the Pirates are made out to be the good guys…in our ME world the Pirates are definitely not the Good Guys. One of their MO is to use others to send out their own agendas. This blog site of mine has been one of their “usage” grounds (read some of the comments which are posted as spreading info). Since returning home, I have had a lot of interesting emails. One of them related to the Modus Operandi of a group operating out of the State of MO, and not far from the St.Louis area (I live not far from them). This group has been active in sharing, selling of ME designs of not just major embroidery companies but any and all for an extremely long while. The ladies of this group pose as friendly (and to see them you would not think otherwise either) and caring. In actuality they are on a hunt (with combined $$ of their group) to purchase various designs and then sell online either via ebay and or any other venue. One of them has been in violation for the past five years in selling a very dear friend’s caricature representation of Sunbonnet Sue. Where the Pirates in the movie have their way in the end…these ladies unfortunately will not be so lucky. Hiding behind others they have managed to accumulate enough sympathy from those who do not know the whole story. It is interesting to note however, that an internet based organization is trying to bring their own self up into the limelight using these very folks(the ME pirates). So, what these pirates were doing to others is now being done to them via their own kinds (of a different nature though). Good luck to all the parties concerned….LOL. Seems like the “Pirates” of ME have found their own self destruction.

So happy you have made it home and are safe. Travel must be fun but I can see where it is must be overwhelming

As for those other pirates who are wanting to go public. I think they may change their mind when the bright lights are shined into the dark corners they want to hide.

Thank you Gayle for your comment. LOL, well the Pirates of ME wanted the bright lights…let’s see  how they can shine there. Pure of heart and pure of mind, only those will have the ultimate success. I believe it and I know it. Hugs, Sadia

The rebels claim that the ESPC goes after the buyers instead of the sellers. Were the owners of the rebel group originally sued for selling or buying pirated designs (are they pirates or not)? Has anyone been sued for buying? The rebels claim that the ESPC is trying to shut down the independents. Other than the single incident where a seller was VeRoed by mistake, what evidence does anyone have that the ESPC is trying to shut down independent digitizers? The rebels claim that the ESPC targets the elderly and those of limited financial resources. Does anyone really believe that the ESPC profiles the buyers of pirated designs, then selectivley sends letters to only the elderly and poor? Most machine embroiderers are older women who grew up sewing and who now have the financial resources to buy an embroidery machine. That explains the older demographics among the buyers of pirated designs. As for poor, I guess that has become a relative term. The rebels claim that the subpoena from the ESPC violates their freedom of speech. Do they think that the freedom of speech includes the freedom to spread lies with intent to do harm? Think about it.

Sadia,
Put your money where your mouth is. If you have proof of all you allege, put it our there for others to judge for themselves. Innuendo is still defamation and libel.

Response:

Speed, I would be happy to let you know the response to what you claim to be “allegation” if you will precisely list what it is that you are referring to. Innuendos to my knowledge do NOT constitute defamation and or libel. Sadia

I’m one of those who received the letter from ESPC. I also belong to the yahoo group. When I wrote to the (deleted-no names allowed) who sold me the disks I was totally ignored. The group is all about saving those who were sellers there’s never any help for those who bought. Personally I hope these sellers will get a long sentence and fines. I also find it helpful in your putting out this information for us to learn. And I’m only 32, does that make me an old woman?

Response:

SJ, I appreciate your comment and no you are not an old woman, LOL. You are so much more younger than I. I am sorry but no names are allowed here. I’ve deleted and edited your post. Since you are a buyer of bootlegged designs, please email me privately to let me know what you have done. I assure you all will be kept in confidence. Hugs, Sadia

SJ said she was 32. Guess that shoots down their theory that the ESPC only goes after “older” women, right? I only hope that the sellers on the rebel group who got caught will have to pay big time for what they did. I think justice will prevail.

I also hope that the ESPC will get their name cleared for all the slander that this rebel group has caused. What this rebel group has done is sickening. I know that there are a few independent digitizers in the rebel group and I would never ever buy from them and hope that others do the same.

Thanks, Sadia, for letting me vent a little.

I received an email wanting to know if I had “changed sides”…just so everyone knows…….that MJ is not this MJ (MJstitch)…okay….I did not post that message and I am not on any side, in fact, I’m not in embroidery any more….so don’t email me, don’t tell everyone it is me and leave me out of it.
Thanks for letting me clear up this misunderstanding..

and MJ, please use some kind of note to let everyone know that we are not the same person…..and just because someone has the same initials, does not mean we are all the same person……..there is more than one MJ in this world………….thanks MJ (MJstitch)

Response:

MJ, I do not know the lady who wrote as MJ but I believe she only uses MJ as her initials. I’m sure there is ample space for all of us here in the world even if we do share the same initials, LOL. I’m sorry that some feel to reprimand you for another’s posting thinking it to be you. Why  would anyone do that? Can we not all appreciate and respect everyone’s beliefs and go on from there?? And if I was a betting person I believe I would know who it is that wants to stir the pot so to speak. Sorry about that. Hugs, Sadia

MJ, those who profit off the efforts of others are some of the lowest of the low. Stealing and then passing off the work as their own is plain ole not justifiable.

I had joined the above mentioned group awhile ago when it was brought up on another Yahoo group. The direction of the group was an education in itself to see how some people view their actions.

Sadia, the pictures of your booth at the show are amazing. The work you and Carolyn did was beautiful. I am sure that you both received all the attention you deserved – and the sales to go with them!

Carol

Response:

Hello Carol, thank you for your comments and your visit. I hope that by showcasing the “other” side of the story perhaps to let friends know for themselves to judge. By the rude remarks from the ones running the “rebel” group it is evident they do not appreciate for friends to know the other side of the story. As for their actions, they can deny for now…but for how long? The slander and libel they have thrown at not just myself but at anyone questioning them only makes one wonder….why? If they are truly as innocent then these tactics need not have been used, something to think about.

Thank you for your comments regarding our booth. We both enjoyed working together. Hugs, Sadia
