Home again

“There is no place like home” is absolutely truly correct. I arrived home tired but glad last night. The ASG National Convention was a wonderful event. Not only did I get a chance to see some of my dear friends: Bobbi Bullard (http://www.bullarddesigns.com) and Cookie Gaynor (http://www.cookiescreations.com) but also meet up with so many new friends, friends I knew from the various internet boards and now I got a chance to visit with them face to face. Bobbi really has come up with some new and innovative designs. Not only that she has some of the most wonderful tools that not only aid in ME but also sewing. I still  use her Kai scissors, the best ones I have ever used. Cookie as usual looked extremely wonderful, don’t think that lady ever ages.

The Fashion show was wonderful and I want to thank all who came up to me afterwards and said words of appreciation on my entries. I really had a good time overall. The one piece of embroidery that everyone went gaga on…yup, you guessed it…the Dragon. I had a chance to get the teeny tiny crystals from Bobbi the first night I was there and I do have to say that it made a world of difference to the design.

And did my wonderful friend and my booth mate have patterns….oh wow! Not one but four new purse patterns. Absolutely the most wonderful ways to enhance the wardrobe. The patterns are classic and yet the most versatile…now who am I referring to…LOL. Ofcourse, Carolyn from http://www.creativeneedlecraft.com  Give her a few days to get these beauties up on  her website. My understanding is that Fiona and Anna were totally sold out. And not to mention the wonderful fabrics that Carolyn puts together to create the kits, those are a definite must haves.

There were so many new friends that I made at the show that I have to say something about all. To anyone who has never attended a sewing/machine embroidery show…you are missing out on a bunch. Not only do you learn so much about your machine, art, and techniques but the friendships. I enjoyed meeting and visiting with everyone…and the wonderful bartender…Sabrina.

My car is emptied out but the bags and everything has yet to be emptied. I did start off on the laundry. Everything I take, even samples are immediately washed,  pressed and put away for the next show. My email inbox was jam packed so in the next day or so I will be taking care of the correspondence. Meanwhile, it is great to be home again.
