Embroidery on Pleather:

Well, since my attempt at embroidering on leather was successful and the whole pleatherthing did not fall apart, I decided that I would embroider the same on a pleather vest. Mind you, pleather is not an easy item to embroider as needle penetrations can make the fabric limp and tear up. But as I was on a roll, I decided why not. Dd had a pleather high collar zipped up vest which she probably would not be using (I think…) so I opened up its lining. The back side of it looked like a knit which is why I suppose it has such a soft cushy type of feel (at least this one did). Hooping just the tear away in the hoop, I decided to be brave and just pin it to the stabilizer without any topping this time. As much as I use water soluble vilene, I do not care for the left over residue in anything and it had taken me quite a while to get the stiffness out of the boot. Pinning the back of the vest, I stitched out the design. I need not have been concerned, the embroidery did not hurt the pleather and actually the embroidery looked very nice on it and felt nice too. The hard part was attaching the lining back to the vest again but all in all, there was not any needle sticking to the fabric, nothing. And I am rather pleased at my attempt. I did use an 11 needle. Now if I can only find the pleather pants that dd had with this vest……LOL.

Confusion en masse:

Seems like my post several days ago advising members of a certain group has cause quite a stir. I apologize for any confusion. However, I would like to point out to those who might be confused that my warning is only an advice and not a threat. My understanding is from latest news that Yahoo did respond to the members of the said group confirming my advice that it is not the “members” who have been served with a subpeona rather it is Yahoo who has been served due to the actions of two members (the moderators/owners). A word of advice to some…take care. These ladies are known for their antics of confusion and multi personalities. The racketeering days of selling bootlegged designs is over for them and yes they are using the masses for their personal gain of misrepresenting, spreading of false information regarding ESPC and or any other who may be sympathetic to the company and the reality of what the laws and facts are in relation to ME. If you are amongst those masses, please do NOT be lured into their multi personality representation of the facts. Where the internet has allowed in the past for these types of people to profit, the tables are now turned and with the advance of technology these same people find it hard for their lifestyle to exist. To carry on alongside them….and the repercussions that might follow….well, that is what I fear for those who have no understanding nor knowledge. Hence my earlier warning…If you do NOT have a cause to be there, leave.

Four days and counting:

Yup, this is it! And I have yet a gazillion items to finish and books to update and CDS to mark…. A friend and neighbour happened to come by for a cuppa today and everything she would pick up I would say… I have this to finish. LOL. She had this look of puzzlement like “You’ve got to be kidding!”. I then showed her my list which I had started two weeks ago and told her that if in ten days I can accomplish mostly all off the list, then these items should not take long. Slowly and surely I will get there. To all friends going to the ASG National Convention, do stop by booth #49/50 to say hello to Carolyn and Myself. Carolyn from Creative Needlecraft has been extremely busy coming up with some absolutely wonderful ideas and I can hardly wait to see these in real life. Off to work I go….

You really need to get off that pedestal you’ve placed yourself on…..

You really are full of yourself….

Response:

Hello Linda, and what pedestal that might be?? LOL, I’m sorry that  you percieve it to be a one sided affair and perhaps look at my attempt to educate as a form of self indulgence and ego booster. Actually it is neither. There are always two sides to a story and should not the other side also have a say in what is there? The rebels have had it their way for a long while. I think it is time for the truth to be know. Taking someone’s work and portraying it is yours is not the correct thing to do. All the wonderful talk of respect and Americanism….hmmm. I give everyone respect, do they? HUGS, Sadia
