To leave the yahoo group now is pointless and spineless. Yahoo already has your details and yours too Sadia because you joined so many times under so many aliases, as well as all the members of the coalition and your “friend”.

Truthfully, you didn’t really need your “friend” to tell you did you? You were a member of that group and you were notified by Yahoo of the subpoena. There was no need to subpoena Yahoo because everyone who joined is tracable if that is what the plaintiff wants.

Stop trying to scare everyone into going over to the “dark side” with you.Tell the truth. We know who your “friend” is. (What is it you are soooo afraid your “friend” might discover that would make you want to grovel to them so badly? )

My advice for those on the yahoo group is to stay put, and stand united. Fight for your rights. (We’ll party later.)

My request to friends is not because they may be receiving a copy of the subpeona and or the subpeona might hurt them rather it is a glimpse of “what is to come”. I have said time and before I am not a member and do not need to be a member. But yes I do care about those who joined for the sake of “looking” and “seeing” and have nothing to do with the matter. Why should those people have any problems because of a “FEW”. It is called respect. As for standing united….why do not the ones who have the problem stay united and work out the problem rather than rally innoncents around them to hide behind them? Sadia, this is one case where I have to say I agree with you (SURPRISE). When the subpoena arrived I immediately quit the group, not to hide the fact that I was there “looking” and trying to figure out what was going on but because I knew it was going to get “crazy” and I really do not read the digests anymore because it is the same old thing over and over. Only a few “holding court” and not much really happening. The “rebel group” as you call it has really not done what I thought it would and though I think they had good intentions in the beginning, it has now gotten too many people joining who only want to rant and blame and nothing productive is happening. So I think your advice to the watchers is very valid and helpful. Let’s those who want to stay do so and the rest who don’t want to watch any longer can leave. It has nothing to do with being spineless, just smart and maybe as in my case, just tired of the whole mess…………………………….
Since our last “encounter”, I have packed up my machines, not done anything embroidery in over one month and have been happily knitting Socks for Soldiers and I have to say, I am much more at ease, much more relaxed and find there is virtually none of this “junk” happening in my little knitting world, so Sadia, friend or foe, I do owe you a big “Thank You” for that. Maybe this was all meant to be, the embroidery world was not for me, and I’m just a little ole granny happily sitting on her front porch knitting socks. MJ

MJ, it saddens me that you packed up your machines. I think we take the politics of life and bring that into our joys and when that happens there is bound to be trouble. But congratulations on becoming a grandmother, it is a totally different type of love and relationship. Perhaps a time out away from the embroidery was what was needed. I have never considered anyone to be foe and hope that instead of looking at me as an adversary or a threat perhaps they can understand where I am coming from and what it is that I am saying.

As far as the group members are concerned it is the bigger picture that I look at otherwise by now with all the hate, the venom, the threats and the garbage that has been thrown my way would have made any one give up (sound familiar?). I stand strong every day because I know that in this life there has to be a purpose other than to watch wrongdoings go on and on to friends who happened to just be there at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I had a look at the subpeona papers and actually I do not blame ESPC at all for going after the two ladies. They have spread enough lies and wrong propoganda to do damage to many many people. You were very adament that digitizers should do this and should do that, and were planning a boycott. Why did I say anything… because it was directly against business (not just mine but many others) and our livlihood which would have been impacted due to something which really did NOT exist. In same way the two named ladies have spread enough ill will to damage the reputation and business of many many companies, including myself. It is why I asked those friends who are just there for the sake of being there to not be involved and allow such badness to continue.

In end, I wish you well and knitting is a very enjoyable hobby. It has been a while since I knitted but I know the satisfaction it gives. Hopefully some day you will want to join again and I would be more than happy to welcome you with open arms. Till then, much love and Hugs, Sadia

Another brick in the building of the Temple of Doom. Sadly the battle that these strong spirited individuals fight is not only for themselves, but for every little old lady on social security that is being scammed out of their life’s blood because they had the audacity to enjoy a seemingly harmless hobby. They fight for the rights of free enterprise, free speech and the Constitution of the United States of America.

Anyone trully versed in the history of this great nation, carries with pride the term “Rebel”. Our country was founded on a rebellion against taxation. The Civil War was fought for states rights and the civil rights of it’s citizens. The term “Rebel” is not a dirty word, it is a badge of honor and bravery.

These “rebels” continue to inform, they continue to help to alliviate the fears of the defenseless, and will not go quietly into the night as your friends would wish. They are not the guilty “thieves” they have been accused of being, but just good hard working people that have no connection with any of the controversy with the exception of the love for embroidery and the sadness that this unwarranted terror has caused in the whole of the embroidery community. God help us all, if these “rebels” are silenced and the only voice that is heard in this great nation is one of fear and terror.

One wonders if you will speak so loudly, if the tables are turned. Will you stand so tall and strong in defense as you do in offense?

What difference does it make what Yahoo group someone belongs to? It is a right to assemble, it is freedom of speech, and people are simply sharing thoughts and opinions. The ESPC is grasping at straws in stating that all of these people have pirated their designs. They are using intimidation in hopes of bringing some poor little grandmother to tears and send her social security income of $300 to them and what few designs she bought off Ebay. Just because someone posted a comment on a group doesn’t make them a criminal. Again, it’s a phishing expedition.

It’s a new age, folks. The internet is here. E-media is upon us an growing more and more each day. You don’t see Microsoft or Adobe or Corel sending us threating letters.

They are going to end up losing business… not because of the so-called pirated designs, but rather from a lack of respect for the companies involved in the ESPC and their tactics.

As for the poor grandmother and buying designs off of Ebay…whom did she purchase from and whose designs were they? I suggest you all go to the (deleted- sorry no names allowed here) and have a look at the new uploaded file. It shows a very interesting trace on the originating IP address of the so called Subpoena Email. In fact it sheds a great deal of light on who actually sent sent the emails and begs the question, why would they feel the need need to do this if what they are doing is legitimate and sanctioned by the authorities?

I think you need to take a look at your own site, Sadia before you accuse others of libel/slander. There are some very obviously libelous/slanderous comments about Angela and a number of other people on your blog. Since you are the owner/ moderator of the blog, you may well find yourself in the same boat as you claim Angela’s friends are in – and sooner than you think.

Since there is no proof in existance that the claims about Angela and the others are true, it’s going to be one hell of a job proving that those aren’t libelous/slanderous comments, isn’t it?

By the way, you needn’t bother to take them down now – they are already downloaded and stored in a very secure location.

Angela, thank you for your advice, I appreciate it. I have no control over what others may write here as it is an open forum. The only person I control is myself and as I have said time and again, please show me where I have named anyone and posted anything slanderous or otherwise. I have posted time and again warnings about certain groups of individuals (without naming them) as they have been repeatedly involved in scrupulous activities. As to being in same boat, I think not but thank you.

LOL, Angela, sounds like someone is on the hunt…did you ask your friends about their involvement and how it will effect 400+- people. They are doing nothing different now than when they started to hide behind the very people that they landed in trouble and now again they are going to make well sure that they use the others for saving themselves. I agree with discover.The supbeona sent to all the members is fake and made up by people wanting to hurt us. Yahoo has confirmed it. How low can some people get.

Friend, as far as I know NO subpeona has been sent to any members of that Yahoo group. A subpeona has been sent to Yahoo regarding that particular group. Yahoo has to make all members aware of what is happening. As far as the validity of the letter letting everyone know that Yahoo has been subpeonaed…it is true. If you have a confirmation otherwise, then please share. I can hardly imagine an hacker being so smart as to know all the email addys and multiple addys of all the members of a particular Yahoo group, can you. If you are a member of the group, then my best wishes. You may do well to ask those who conspire to misrepresent, misconstrue and use others for their gain as to how low can one get. I only am advising and warning, take heed or not, choice is yours.
