Chere, thanks again for your comment. Yes, teens love bags and the reticule is a perfect gift...actually I had that in mind for dd and dgd for Christmas as well....shhh, hope they do not read the blog, LOL. Actually any poly thread is perfect for the fsl laces. The only problem I had with metallic thread was on the sewing machine. It worked like a charm on the embroidery machine. My guess is it is the tension setting on the bernina that perhaps was not set right and I was in a hurry so not sure. However, rather than using metallics, I am at the moment stitching out another one with the Floriani threads which have such a nice sheen. Do send me pictures of your purses, I would love to see them. Hugs, Sadia

Kathleen, thank you so much for your comment. As a quilter I know it is easier to do these blocks on the sewing machine but there are many friends who are not quilters hence my introduction in creating something for them which always will line up perfectly and also give the effect of quilting with crazy patches. Thanks again, Hugs, Sadia

Now I know what to make with my set of Victorian blocks; I have three granddaughters who are 17, 17 and 20 and they all love handbags. Wouldn't this make a great Christmas present for them? I think I would do the band in a crochet type thread to avoid the breakage problems that you had with the metallic (although the final outcome is lovely).
