Challenge for the year
Okay, so this is not New Year’s Eve, to be making resolutions. But who says New Year’s Eve is the only time for resolutions or for challenging oneself to do a task.
Challenge: Love to Children, the future of our tomorrows. How: Quilt drive for Kids in Distress. What: Send in a quilt and I’ll gladly send in the chosen collection of designs. Why: Why not? Children are our future. If they see love and security then for sure we would be creating adults that would also be the same.
The idea just happened to come about while talking to Dianne one day. She mentioned how it is her dream to see each child in t he Kids in Distress shelter have a quilt of their own. Minutes later, I was thinking on this and said, why not. Let us do something to get our ladies going. The AEC list has over 2000 members. My list has over 2000 members. If only half the membership sent in a quilt, we could have a quilt for every child in the Kids in Distress shelters. Wow. Wouldn’t that be awesome. But ofcourse there has to be an incentive. Love isn’t enough, there has to be something everyone would want. Designs, of course, said I…LOL. The ladies love designs. I’ll offer a collection to anyone who sends in a quilt. That much love and caring of creating a quilt surely entitles them to a collection of my designs free and of their own choice.
And there started a wonderful challenge. And why not?? We have done so in the past: http://braeco.com/kids2006.html

Thank you for posting this. I think it is a great thing to do. I am a quilter and would love to send some quilts. Ann

It is a great joy for these kids to have something they can own and especially a quilt which is an extension of one’s love. Thank you so much, we look forward to hearing from you. Hugs, Sadia
